Breaking ground.

Defying tradition.

Paving the way.

Holding the door.

Is Ally Eden a poet that other literary artists take seriously? Absolutely! She was recently voted Fort Collins, Colorado’s Poet Laureate 2022-2024 for outstanding creative merit.

Is boasting a traditional CV enough for her?  Absolutely not.

Ally Eden is a people’s poet, her style forged in the streets and flamed by an irresistible urge to build bridges by means of poetry.

A conduit for communication and undeniably attuned to human connection, Ally Eden is a champion for language justice and radical love.  A Spanish interpreter/translator by day and spoken-word performer by night, she dedicates nearly every waking moment to the power of words and the lofty pursuit of a more welcoming community.

To this end, Ally Eden co-founded the Gulo Gulo Poetry Collective for transdisciplinary poetic expression out of Wolverine Farm.  She was a volunteer facilitator for writers behind bars at the Larimer County Jail and actively volunteers as a mentor for budding young writers and LGBTQ+ youth.  Ally’s writing workshops are one-of-a-kind experiences that cross-pollinate disciplines and languages to offer everyone a seat at art’s table.

Unabashedly queer, vibrant, and outspoken, you’re more likely to find Ally opening for a rock band than you are at the shelves of Barnes and Nobles; you’re more likely to read her pieces in a sex and body-positive zine than in a literary journal, and you’re more likely to participate at her shows than to listen in silence.

Agárrate and prepárate.  As in life, so in poetry: we’re all in this together.
